Why Bluebook a Project
Bluebooking leads to updated geodetic control on NGS datasheets.
NGS datasheets are results of the publication process.
The least squares adjusted networks (GPS or leveling) from bluebooked projects will provide the new/updated geodetic control for your current and future projects.

OPUS Shared solutions, on the other hand, are not the result of a survey network solution, and while it provides new data, it does not provide updated geodetic control.
Reason being, a shared solution is not a result of a least squares adjusted survey network.
It is simply a result of taking one GPS receiver out, occupying one mark for a number of hours, and submitting this dataset to NGS.

Bluebooked projects involve much more accountability and redundancy - such as multiple observations per mark, field logsheets, photographs, fuller descriptive texts, and active QA/QC re-checking by NGS employees - prior to posting to the public.

OPUS Share'd solutions dot not receive the same level of scrutiny.
